MIFF 2024

Always higher, always stronger

In a few weeks, more precisely from March 1st to 4th, the MIFF trade show will have reached a symbolic milestone. In fact, this one will have its thirtieth edition. An edition that promises to be more full of promise than ever, with its share of new features and surprises that visitors and exhibitors will be able to enjoy, for whom the organizers will once again have every attention.

Because you have to know that the MIFF, It is above all a very special atmosphere which makes this show at the end of the world so endearing, which contributes more than greatly to its success. In many ways, the Kuala Lumpur meeting is a joy for professionals in home design and decoration. Beyond the offer which continues to expand as the years go by, it is above all the quality of the welcome offered by the organizers which makes these days unique in many respects. With experience and know-how acquired over the years over three decades, the teams running the event leave no stone unturned. As a result, not only do exchanges between exhibitors and buyers take place in the most optimal conditions in terms of efficiency, but there is also a climate of well-being and serenity that cannot be found anywhere else. Still, going to this distant Malaysia, which is so welcoming, is an experience that we can only recommend to buyers from all over the world. Moreover, these are seen in increasing numbers from year to year, a sign that is unmistakable. The Phenomenon is particularly evident this year among the exhibitors, who came to present their new products and innovations and whose ranks recorded a spectacular increase this year, since the dedicated surface area increased to 170,000 m2.

An extraordinary visitor journey

MIFF, acronym for Malaysia International Furniture Fair For those who have forgotten or are unaware of it, it is above all a unique visitor route. Here in fact, a meeting which is held on two sites, which is already not common. But you should know that these are as different as each other, and this has an explanation. In fact, the show was born in the aisles of Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Center (MITEC) historical heart of the original edition, and the word historical takes on more meaning than ever. Its architecture cannot be compared to any platform. The visitor wanders between halls which in no way resemble what one might imagine of a trade fair. These are in fact located in a two-story building closer to a hotel than to a trade fair venue. And yet, the alchemy has worked wonderfully since the beginning, and gives the MIFF a completely exceptional charm. Better yet, the participants are accommodated in dedicated hotels that couldn't be closer, so much so that the transport problem is solved, knowing however that the place is close to the city center and amenities such as the metro within easy reach. .

But if MITEC remains the soul of the salon, its signature, this magical building also has its limits in terms of space as the salon continues to grow over the years. Faced with this problem, the organizers extended the show to another platform called World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur.

Another world

Brand new exhibition center, the WTCKL takes us into another world, that of modern platforms ready to welcome visitors and exhibitors in the most optimal conditions in terms of comfort and ease. Still, the building allowed the MIFF to be able to support its spectacular development over the years. Its much greater reception capacity thus offered the possibility for the show to move up a gear very spectacularly. So, with these two sites the MIFF has become the reference meeting place for the world of furniture and home design in South East Asia.

But, aren’t these two sites a hindrance for visitors? Well, no. It’s even the opposite. This is obviously due to the perfect, precise organization which allows the visitor to go from one to the other in a few minutes in total comfort with a shuttle system which works perfectly. And then this allows the show to keep this identity which is so specific to it with two places so different and so complementary, to which exhibitor and visitors are attached. However, it remains true that the addition of WTCKL allowed the show to really move up a gear and this acceleration is only confirmed for this 2024 edition, since two new halls will be fully occupied. Thus on its two sites the show is full, which would have been impossible with the capacity of the single MITEC.

With application please

The MIFF focused more than ever on the comfort and efficiency of the visitor journey and business meetings, goes a little further this year to enable these parameters to be optimized, with the launch of an application called MIFF Furniverse App whose mission will be to be the buyer's faithful companion in order to make appointments much easier on both sites. Those who use it will find the most detailed information possible about suppliers, their location at the show, their product ranges, events and meetings, which begin well before the opening of the show, etc. Connected users will benefit from all additional information such as dedicated airport reception and hotel offers. However, we must not forget the “Buyers Night”, and the multiple seminars. Finally, exhibitors and visitors will be able to participate in the planting of a virtual tree symbolizing commitment to respecting the environment.

Design to celebrate 30 years

Everyone is now aware that design is taking on an ever more significant dimension in consumers' purchasing decisions and the phenomenon has not escaped the attention of the organizers. Also, to celebrate the show's 30 years of innovation and design, they have decided to set up a competition called Chair-Volution, where young participants will have to express their talent with the unifying theme, the legacy of these three decades of MIFF. The awards ceremony will take place on the penultimate day of the show.

Stronger, more dynamic, more imaginative than ever, the Kuala Lumpur meeting continues its rise, and this success is only deserved, as the organizers have created a show that is ever more remarkable for its offerings than for the quality of its welcome. . We can only advise any buyer to go there. He will see the best of Malaysian production and its know-how in the field of the wood industry. He will also discover a very wide range of production from different Asian countries. Finally, it will be wonderfully received, which is worth gold.
