Trade fairs Heimtextil, Ambiente, Christmasworld, Creative World
Winter at the shows
After such a long absence, we had almost forgotten the power of the famous Frankfurt winter fairs. These were well remembered by our good memories by signing performances of the very first order, exceeding the most optimistic expectations. They prove the great return of meetings in the famous stronghold in addition to the Rhineland, which has regained its rank as the world leader in trade fairs dedicated to consumer products.

As in the best days, there were crowds in the gigantic Frankfurt fairgrounds during these meetings which took place from January 10 to 13 concerning Heimtextil and from February 3 to 7 for a fiery trilogy, with the famous Ambiente that we no longer present, which therefore stood accompanied for the first time by the no less renowned Christmasworld and Creative world. A proud idea in any case in view of the exceptional results recorded in all areas, and especially in terms of visitors, which proves that this unprecedented formula has won over all the votes of buyers, who have only seen advantages. On a practical level first of all, since a good number of buyers often had the obligation to move for the first time, then to return a few weeks later for the high mass. Ambiente. They were thus able to save themselves the double trip, which in a world where time is always limited for professionals in the sectors concerned constitutes a precious gain. Better still, those who came specifically to one or the other of the aforementioned platforms had the opportunity to see firsthand the complementarity and transversality of these offers brought together under the same roof. In any case, given the number of entries, the bet of the German organizers is largely a winner, we will come back to this. The moral of this story is that crises are often good and require in-depth reflections which lead to strategic decisions that revitalize. This was the case at Messe Frankfurt, which proves that the leaders at the helm have not fallen asleep during these past two years. All this also proves that rooting in history, dating back to the Middle Ages, is not the result of chance. Frankfurt Fairs have always been able to adapt to all circumstances, and many things have happened during these centuries to the present day. It is from this heritage that the organizers draw their strength. Besides, they claim it with pride, and as we understand them. Still, after this long tunnel, their shows have come back stronger than ever, as proven by the figures, indisputable justices of the peace, of the success of their events. In any case, this great return demonstrates that the need for meetings of this type is still just as strong, both on the part of exhibitors and visitors. Nothing replaces physical contact, even if the advent of digital is transforming buyer-supplier relationships, marking the advent of hybridization.
Heimtextil
Back with a bang
It's as always for ages, with Heimtextil that the three strokes were sounded to inaugurate the winter trade show season. It is clear that we still had some questions, very light however, since the exhibitors had responded well. On the other hand, in response to demand from companies in the sector, a “waiting” session was set up a few months ago, which proves that the market was impatiently awaiting the big edition. All this was largely confirmed since no less than 44,000 professionals and buyers from the sector made the trip, which is a truly remarkable result. What was no less remarkable was the number of exhibitors, which numbered 2,400 from 129 countries who came to present their novelties and innovations. Since we are in the figures chapter, the Top Ten of exhibitors places China, which is making a comeback, at the top, followed by the Indian giant, then Turkey, Pakistan, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France and Great Britain. At the level of the visitors it is without great surprise Germany which plays at home which prevails in front of Italy, Turkey, the United States, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Spain, the Pakistan, India and Greece. These lists demonstrate in an irrefutable way that the whole world has returned to Frankfurt, which regains its power of attraction for internationalization, both at the level of exhibitors and visitors. Finally, the icing on the cake, exhibitors came from 129 countries. All this proves, if need be, that the Heimtextil fair, remains the largest global event dedicated to interior textiles in all their variations. Finally, according to the surveys carried out with both exhibitors and visitors, all the satisfaction indices were green. Without going too far into the figures, let's still mention the impressive number of visitors. These were 94% to consider having achieved their objectives.
Sustainability the absolute watchword
In the field of the offer, this one was quite up to what it was in 2019, rich, exhaustive, creative. However, if only one word had to be retained to illustrate what the exhibitors offered in terms of novelties and innovations, it would be the one without great surprise in terms of durability, which was everywhere, with a lot of imagination, particularly in the field of raw materials, as diverse as they are varied. So, for example mushrooms are now making an appearance! Many other elements have been found in space “Future Materials Library”. A lot of information was also exchanged there during meetings within the “Green village” in hall 12. But what remains as one of the major events of this 2023 edition was in the space reserved for bedding, a subject that continues to grow in importance with consumers who realize year after year how much subject is essential for our well-being and our health. Moreover, visitors showed a lot of interest in the conferences named “Sleep and more”, which were accompanied by “Sleep tours” allowing you to discover a selection of products, made by a sleep specialist and the beneficial effects that result from them.
So here is a show in great shape for its big comeback after two long years of absence. The public responded en masse as did the exhibitors. In line with visitors' expectations, the offer swept across all sectors of activity in the field of textiles related to the home, while sticking perfectly to the trends of the time. Exhibitors and visitors responded en masse, and clearly expressed their great satisfaction. This is simply called a success.
Ambiente, Christmasworld, Creative World
Huge !
Back in the good city of Frankfurt for the big chunk of the winter season of winter fairs signed Messe Frankfurt. After the great success from Heimtextil, we had little doubt as to who was waiting for us between ¾ and 7 February. But at this point, definitely not. We crowded the aisles during these days, as in the best pre-pandemic editions. The heyday of the biggest Frankfurt trade fair has returned and everything shows that it is for a long time.
So 154,000 visitors walked through the gates of the gigantic exhibition center. This considerable figure exceeds all the organizers' most optimistic expectations. Admittedly, given the number of exhibitors registered, they were still quite confident for this edition of the big comeback. In any case, the visitors got their money's worth, since Messe Frankfurt had prepared a little surprise for them. Thus, the teams at the controls of the fair, had taken a decision which rallied all the votes. The result was the addition to the giant Ambiente, two appointments of the winter season, namely Creativeworld and especially Christmasworld. This ultimately very simple idea was one of the keys to the success of this 2023 edition. Certainly, Ambiente by its firepower is able to live its life independently, as it has always proven, but this decision to group the three salons has brought a real dynamic. Still, this one worked perfectly. And above all, let's not forget that this decision has been very beneficial for visitors. They were able to discover a wider offer which aroused a lot of interest. As for the buyers who frequented the three platforms for various reasons, they were largely winners in terms of time and travel savings, which is a considerable advantage.
A very enriched offer
Even if the simultaneous presence of three platforms with their own identity has enriched an already more than complete offer, no one has forgotten what the very essence is. from Ambiente. Remember that this temple dedicated to consumer products, is divided into three main themes. The first is called Living, and includes everything related to the layout of our interiors from furniture, bedding, home textiles, decoration in all its forms. The second offers everything related to kitchen utensils, tableware, crockery, cutlery, small household appliances. Finally, the third sector covers the gift sector with jewelry, watches, handbags, etc. Still, this layout has always worked wonderfully thanks to its clarity, and its ease of visit despite the size of the gigantic park. In reality, nothing is left to chance and everything is designed to save visitors unnecessary steps. This was until this year the landscape offered to the buyer. Change of scenery therefore for this 2023 edition with the arrival of the newcomers, who are not really new in reality. But there is one that has never ceased to amaze or progress. It is Christmasworld initially reserved for decorations related to Christmas celebrations. From fir trees, through garlands, ribbons, nativity scenes and all kinds of nativity-related accessories, there is something magical about this fair that has never ceased to fascinate, while acquiring its letters of nobility every year. . In addition, there is an obvious bridge in the offer, since the Christmas and holiday tables, with an anthology of magnificently set meal tables with tableware products. Always is it that Christmasworld conquered the visitors and integrated perfectly into its new life, in the same way as Creativeworld which offers an offer dedicated to the creative arts which also makes it possible to complete the purchasing process. The offer of this platform also plays on an emotional register, however different from Christmasworld, more playful, as everyone will have understood.
This unpublished trilogy will therefore have been a hit, and how to be surprised. For this first trial run, it is a magnificent success for Messe Frankfurt, proof of the merits of this decision, which beyond the 154,000 visitors attracted 4,561 exhibitors, who occupied all of the 352,900 m2. 170 countries participated in the party for their greatest happiness. All these impressive figures are a resounding sign of the great return to the forefront Frankfurt winter fairs. Finally, we must not forget the digital extension which has also been a real success, with in particular 80,000 contacts, generating something 8,000 interactions and 4,000 dialogues in “chat messages”. All this during a period going until February 17, without forgetting the online platform on which trade is done throughout the year. But if the hybridization of trade shows is now an unavoidable phenomenon for any organizer, what will remain in our memories is the great return of physical trade shows, in this year 2023.
